Making a story
Reading level and book length
The reading level sets the words and the pictures per page, and decides which book lengths you can choose.

You choose a Reading level on the first step of the wizard. It is about how the child reads or listens, not just their age, so choose the level they are comfortable at.
- Little Readers (ages 2-3): a few words a page, one picture-sized moment at a time. Books of 8 pages.
- Growing Readers (ages 4-5): simple picture book with 1-2 short sentences per page. Books of 8 or 12 pages.
- Confident Readers (ages 5-7): read-aloud adventure with dialogue and a clear problem to solve. Books of 8, 12 or 16 pages.
- Super Readers (ages 8-10): short chapter book: the child solves it themselves. Books of 12, 16 or 20 pages.
The level decides how much text is on each page, how simple the words are, and which book lengths are offered. A longer book is a bigger story, not the same story stretched out.

Changing your mind
If you change the reading level, the length resets to that level’s usual size, so check it again on Story Setup. The price follows the number of pages.
