Making a story

Mood, rhyme and dialogue

How to make a story funny, cosy, spooky or rhyming — and the extras you can add at the end.

Updated Sep 29, 20261 min read

On Story Setup, under How it reads, you shape how the story sounds. There are two choices.

Story Mood

The feeling of the whole book: Funny, Cozy, Mysterious, Amazing, Brave, Kind, Magical, A Little Spooky, or Bedtime. Choose Bedtime for a story that winds down at the end.

Prose Form

  • Regular — ordinary storytelling.
  • Rhyming — the story rhymes. It adds 1 coin to the price, because rhyme is harder to write well.
  • Dialogue-driven — more of the story is people talking, which suits being read aloud with voices.

What else is inside

Below the style you can add a moral, a quiz, or a word list. They appear on the last pages of the book, after the story.
