Age checks and parental consent
Why we ask for a birthday, what happens for children under 13, and what to do if the consent email does not arrive.

LoloTales is for families, and the law asks us to take extra care with children under 13. So, after you sign up, we ask for a birthday.
What happens next
- If the account belongs to an adult, the birthday is all that is needed.
- If the birthday says the account holder is under 13, a parent or guardian must approve it first. We email them a link, and the account stays limited until they open it.
- While consent is pending you can still use the home page and the sign-in pages, the About page and Support.
Work through it
Start at the top — the checks are ordered by what is most often the cause.
The consent email did not arrive
Check the spam folder and search for LoloTales. The link can be sent again from the consent page. Make sure the email address is the parent’s, not the child’s.
Open the consent pageThe link says it has expired
The link works for 48 hours. Ask for a new one from the consent page and use it right away.
Open the consent pageThe birthday was entered wrongly
Open Settings and choose Update age verification to correct it.
